Settling In

We have finally settled into our new home. We went to bed last night and it was raining, but we woke up to it snowing hard! We got a few inches of new snow and the weather changed again quickly to a beautiful sunny day! Above are pictures of Andy shoveling snow for the first time on our driveway....pretty icy and hard to get it all. The other two pictures are our view from our new home (on the deck)... we must say we feel pretty spoiled here sorrounded by the beauty. We are heading for a snowshoe hike this weekend in Girdwood and are hoping for good weather!

Hope all are doing well, thanks for all the comments! Miss you all!

-also some of you may have wondered the time it took us to get here; total drive time was 37 hours, 2nights and 3 days.

Happy Days!

Anchorage- our new home

We have somewhat settled into our new house. A 3 bedroom spacious house with great mountain views! Even a view of the ocean! Pictures of our home...soon to come.

Running errands today, we decided we wanted to see a moose....so we drove around our new neighborhood, and yes, what do you know we saw a female moose grazing in someone's backyard! It was too easy to find, they are like deer at home, and they are NOT afraid of us. Kelsey yelled "come here moosey!" and sure enough, the moose turned its head, and she walked right up close to the truck.

Day 3- North Yukon Territory and Alaska!

This is a glacier we passed about an hour north of Anchorage on the Glenn Highway!
Sunrise on the truck near Whitehorse Yukon

BEAUTIFUL! ALASKA!

ALCAN- Driving North

Day 1

We made it to Smithers BC no problem- roads were very easy. Not much wildlife though.

Day 2

We drove into Yukon territory, not any problems just a few miles of snow covered roads. We saw our first moose along the road as well a few caribou!
